Verdict Voices proudly presents the 1st Verdict Voices National Memorial Drafting Competition, 2026, a national-level online competition dedicated to promoting excellence in legal research, memorial drafting, and written advocacy.

The competition gives law students an opportunity to draft memoranda on a contemporary constitutional law proposition, replicating professional litigation drafting standards. Memorials will be evaluated through a blind review process by academicians and legal practitioners on parameters including legal analysis, research quality, originality, drafting style, and citation methodology.

About the Competition

The competition is designed to strengthen participants' legal research, drafting, analytical reasoning, and written advocacy skills. Teams will prepare memorials from both the Petitioner and Respondent sides based on a specially drafted constitutional law proposition concerning the regulation of online real-money gaming.

There are no oral rounds. The competition is based entirely on memorial drafting.

Eligibility

The competition is open to:

  • Students pursuing the 3-Year LL.B. Programme
  • Students pursuing the 5-Year Integrated Law Programme
  • LL.M. students
  • Ph.D. Research Scholars in Law
  • Participants from recognized universities and institutions in India and abroad

Team Composition

  • Maximum two members per team
  • Cross-institutional teams are permitted
  • Multiple teams from the same institution may participate
  • Each team must submit memorials from both sides

Registration Fee

  • Early Bird Registration (till 25 July 2026): ₹750 per team
  • Regular Registration: ₹950 per team

  • Maximum 40 pages
  • Arguments Advanced: maximum 25 pages

  • Plagiarism should not exceed 10%
